About Us
Denise Lewis, RN
Denise has been a Registered Nurse since 1995 and is currently licensed in Washington, Oregon, and California. She is a lifelong resident of Vancouver, WA, graduating from Columbia River High School and then graduated from the nursing program at Clark College.
She founded CarePoint in October of 2007 after realizing what a need there was for this type of service. When her own grandmother’s health began to fail, she took a leave of absence from her job to travel north and help set up home care and hospice services, interview caregivers, and provide care and support to her grandmother. It took almost two weeks to find the right people! It was after returning home Denise realized how much it would’ve helped to have a professional who was familiar with the resources in the area, as well as having an understanding of how difficult these situations are, to assist both she and her grandmother.
After graduating from nursing school, Denise began her nursing career at a local skilled nursing facility providing care on the rehabilitation unit, as well as the long term care unit. She then went on to work on cardiac telemetry/step down units until transitioning into the emergency department in 2000.
She is married and the proud mother of a beautiful daughter and two dogs. She met her husband in 1999 while working as a travel nurse in southern California. In her free time, Denise enjoys volunteering at the Humane Society of Southwest Washington walking dogs. She is blessed with a wonderful family and is continually thankful for them.
Riley the Dog
Riley is a Labrador/Greyhound mix that loves to visit with everybody. He is available for visits upon request at no additional charge, but biscuits are welcome. Please note that he is a quite a big boy and not a lapdog, no matter how badly he would like to be.
